Francine HUOT

Francine Huot was born in Château-Richer, near Quebec City, into a family where education and culture were valued. In her childhood, while manipulating colored pencils, sketching drawings, she dreamed intensely to become a painter.

Later, becoming a nurse and while raising her children, she enrolled in workshops drawing and composition, led by well-known artists in Quebec. It was then that she adopted watercolor as a medium and developed a very personal technique that won recognition. This passion soon occupied a large part of her life.

For several years now, her acrylic paintings are full of her previous experiences. She is using acrylic wash painting, a technique halfway between drawing and painting, which consists in tinting a drawing with colored juice obtained by the dissolution of pigments in water. The result gives beautiful bright colors. Her landscapes and still lifes are permanently displayed in several galleries in Quebec.
